The privately owned Hynds Group is New Zealand's premier product supplier for the management of water and water based waste.Established by John and Leonie Hynds in 1973, the group now comprises eight business units in New Zealand and Australia employing more than 600 people.Hynds Concrete is a manufacturer of spun and precast concrete products with ten manufacturing plants across New Zealand. Hynds Pipe Systems, with 30 branches nationwide, is New Zealand's largest diversified merchant of pipe systems and related products for civil, private, and rural applications. Hygrade Products New Zealand, established in 1997, is a specialist importer and wholesaler of drainage, watermain, and streetware products, with exclusive agencies for world renowned brands. Sister business Hygrade Water Australia was formed in 2007 to serve demand for a similar range of products to the Australian civil infrastructure sector. Gillies Metaltech, acquired by Hynds Group in 2007, is New Zealand’s only manufacturer of cast metal water fittings and valves. First established in 1924, Gillies specialise in the production of products designed to suit New Zealand operating conditions. Hynds Environmental Systems was established in 2001 to combine leading edge technology with the group's concrete manufacturing capacity. Hynds Environmental is now New Zealand’s foremost supplier of stormwater and wastewater treatment systems. Waters & Farr, previously a joint venture business but now 100% owned by Hynds, manufactures polyethylene and polypropylene pipe systems for drainage, water reticulation and other municipal services. Interpipe Holdings is a 50% owned joint venture which manufactures vertically cast concrete pipe, distributed through Hynds Pipe Systems. |
